The Snack Food Graveyard

I was just reminded a moment ago of Good and Fruity candy, and it led me back to a recurring rant, the fact that foods I like keep disappearing off of the shelves. This is only a partial list, I'm sure, but here are the various things that I used to eat that are no longer available (please remove your hat for the duration of the list, if you are wearing one):

  • Good and Fruity candy
  • Pepperidge Farms Cheyenne peanut butter and chocolate chunk cookies
  • Pepperidge Farms Sedona toffee and chocolate chunk cookies
  • Knudsen's Low-Sugar fruit juice spritzers
  • Maple Crunch and Munch
  • Keebler's Toffee Sandies
  • Whole Foods Double Chocolate Marshmallows
  • Original Slice (it used to have a nice pear flavor to it)
  • Boston Market ham sandwiches
  • Ruby Tuesday's Buffalo Chicken Won-Tons (this one really cheesed me off; they'd been written up in Gourmet, for Pete's sake!)
  • Peanut butter topping at most Max & Erma's sundae bars
  • Sanders' Jelly Bird Eggs (pectin, speckled, vaguely translucent, and a fixture at my Grandma's Easter parties)
  • The really good shrimp soup with a saffron-cream broth at the Mexican place that used to be on Main Street in downtown Ann Arbor

Feel free to leave notes of mourning in the Comments if I've forgotten anything you think worthy of remembrance.
