Studying the Economics of Detroit

Following up on the mention of a "Community Indicator System" in a WDET news story I heard this morning has lead me to the site of the Detroit Community Data Connection. The group's mission is "To facilitate a sustainable data sharing partnership to support the design, implementation and measurement of social and economic development programs for the betterment of the Detroit Metropolitan community", which sounds like my kind of party. The data they've got doesn't even cover the sources I've found, so I'm going to drop them a line and see what's cooking.
