Studying the Economics of Detroit
This is really more of a note to myself, but I've got a couple more sources to check out. The first is the Detroit Economic Growth Corporation, a 30 year-old non-profit with various data on their site. The other, pointed to by DEGC, is the Census Bureau QuickFacts site; while the data they present is basically single-year snapshot information, they provide full information on the data sources, so may be helpful in finding (for example) demographics. I'm particularly interested in working out some estimate of able-bodied workers so I can contrast the employment numbers I posted earlier with a fuller measure of the workforce, rather than one that filters out discouraged workers.
